Wyatt Edmondson: His Unhindered Vision on the Art of the Independent Hustle
In this episode of Curious Goldfish, host Jason English sits down with Nashville-based singer-songwriter Wyatt Edmondson at the 30A Songwriters Festival to discuss the gritty reality of the modern music industry. An Alabama native with a "legally blind" diagnosis that arrived just as his musical career began, Edmondson has turned a potential hindrance into a catalyst for a disciplined, revenue-focused career. Because he cannot easily read lyrics on a page, he has developed a unique recall method: "I want my songs to be memorable, and if I can't recall it in the next second, then maybe it needs to be rethought".
A Life, Not a Job: Quoting his late mentor Robert W. Smith, Edmondson lives by the mantra, "I don't have a job. I have a life" . His mission is to provide a "meaningful contribution to the greater culture" through art that captures the tension between ambition and vulnerabilit
